How does your charity work, and how are donations separated from your business sales?
Backpack Bed for Homeless is a registered not-for-profit charity. Our charity work is completely separate from retail sales.
The charity is not government funded and relies on donations and fundraising to provide life-saving Backpack Beds and Fire Retardant Sleeping Bags to people experiencing homelessness across Australia.
We partner with more than 1,100 homeless agencies who distribute our products directly to people sleeping on the streets. There is no cost to homeless individuals.
When partner agencies have funding available (through schools, Rotary clubs, corporate sponsors, or community groups), they can purchase products at cost price. When agencies do not have funds, they can request donated (funded) Backpack Beds from the charity, depending on available fundraising.
The general public cannot purchase directly from the charity. Retail sales are handled separately through SEASONFORT.
