How long does it take for donated funds to get Backpack Beds to people in need?

Because we work through established crisis accommodation centres, street doctors, outreach teams, and other frontline services, Backpack Beds can be distributed as soon as agencies receive stock. When a person without shelter presents to a partner agency, they can often be provided a Backpack Bed immediately.

Our recipient data shows:

  • 35% are aged between 35–44

  • 85% are men

  • 21% are Indigenous Australians

  • 81% were already sleeping on the street prior to receiving a Backpack Bed

  • 91% are expected to continue sleeping rough the following week

This highlights the urgency of need and why rapid distribution through frontline agencies is critical.

Donations are converted into product manufacturing, shipment, and delivery to our agency partners as efficiently as possible to ensure timely assistance for people without shelter.
